Network Systems & Technology

This area involves research and implementation of high-speed wide area networks, including technology development to enable very advanced networks that will  allow data, audio and video communication.  Also included are electrical, optical and wireless transmission, telemetry and modeling, simulation of communication systems, and emulation of flight systems, sensors and data acquisition systems to function in an optimal fashion for distributed science and engineering applications. Network system and technology requires technical skills used in the development and application of computer networks and Internet technology, including switching/routing technology, network architecture, and network security.
