Extravehicular Activity Systems
This research area focuses on knowledge of engineering, design, development, analysis and test of EVA systems. Researchers need to have knowledge and skills regarding the unique environment and constraints in sending a crewmember into space outside of a vehicle, and expertise in designing and developing spacesuits, tools, mechanisms, and operations that support such an activity.
NASA Centers that are focused on Extravehicular Activity Systems:
- Glenn Research Center (GRC), Cleveland, Ohio
- Johnson Space Center (JSC), Houston, Texas
- Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC), Huntsville, Alabama
