Biomedical Engineering

This research focus area involves knowledge of engineering, design, development, analysis and test of biomedical systems such as equipment and tools for maintaining crew psychological and physical health for long-duration missions in space.  Also involved in this focus area is the knowledge of a broad array of engineering disciplines, and biomedical research, human factors and space medicine findings and practices.  This research area also includes knowledge of operational impacts and sustaining engineering on the systems.
