It will invest in research for the long term in areas that are appropriate to NASA's unique capabilities and meeting its charter of addressing national needs, benefiting the public good, and enhancing U.S. competitiveness.  Requirements for analytical and computational structural methods, structural dynamics, and thermal structures may trend upward.
