Acoustics
Acoustics research is related to interior and exterior noise reduction and acoustic design for advanced aerospace systems, subsystems, and components to meet environmental requirements. Researchers in this focus area have knowledge of experimental and computational aero and structural acoustics. Inherent in this research focus area is the capability to determine the influence of acoustic environment on ground observers and vehicle passengers alike, as well as to develop an understanding of its impact on vehicle structural responses, including sonic fatigue.
