The Women of USRP
By: Heather L. Ogletree
According to the National Women’s History Project website, “The stories of women’s achievements are integral to the fabric of our history.” And so this March, the resonating theme for National Women’s History Month is “Our history is our strength.”
In celebration of this theme, the Undergraduate Student Research Program (USRP) would like to recognize our women coordinators; the women behind USRP, the women who are integral to the quality student, mentor matches which make USRP a success. Quality matches mean quality hands-on internships and quality internship experiences lead to the development of a prepared future STEM workforce, meaning USRP Coordinators are integral to the future of STEM, part of “the fabric of our history.”
In all, USRP has 17 women coordinators at 10 NASA centers. Below you will find the profiles of 2 of our Center Project Coordinators. Click on each USRP Coordinator’s photo to find out more about what led them to a career in NASA Education and what they look for when selecting interns.
A special thanks to the women of USRP for your dedication to the future of STEM.
