OSU Student Works with NASA Hands-On USRP Internship
Ohio resident Lin Wang is a fall 2009 intern at Glenn Research Center with the NASA Undergraduate Student Research Program (USRP). Wang is working in the Combustion and Reacting Systems Branch during her 15 weeks in Cleveland, OH.
Wang works with a NASA mentor with the Advanced Combustion via Microgravity Experiments (ACME). He is performing hardware upgrades and leak tests on the control system. Wang is also training to work a rig that will drop experiments from eight stories high.
“My mentor and fellow co-workers are all very friendly and helpful. They have helped me get situated and up to date on everything, as well as answering any questions I had. I feel I have learned a great deal from this experience already.”
Wang is a senior at The Ohio State University from Beavercreek, OH. He expects to graduate with a degree in aerospace engineering in June, 2010.
“My respect and admiration for NASA and the future of Aerospace led me to choose my major,” comments Wang.
