Dr. Thom Pinelli to Host USRP Virtual Elluminate Session
On Thursday November 5th, 2009 at 3:00pm (EST), Dr. Thom Pinelli from the NASA Langley Research Center will be USRP’s guest presentation speaker in an online interactive Elluminate session.
Dr. Thomas E. Pinelli serves as the University Affairs Officer at the NASA Langley Research Center (Hampton, VA). Previously, he was the Deputy Manager K-20+ MODSIM STEM Education, Training, and 21st Century Workforce Development Initiative and chaired the technical program for MODSIM World 2009 Conference & Expo. His NASA career includes several “detailed” assignments in and out of NASA including the NASA Ames Research Center, NASA HQ, and the Executive Office of the President. Dr. Pinelli holds a Ph.D. in information science from Indiana University, Bloomington and has an extensive publication record. He has received numerous honors and recognition for his research and work including an Emmy Award from the National Association of Television Arts and Sciences and the NASA Exceptional Service Award. In 2007 he was elected a Fellow in the Society of Technical Communication (STC) and in 2008 he was elected an Associate Fellow in the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).
