NASA USRP Students Are Prepared for STEM Related Careers
The NASA Undergraduate Student Research Project 2008 and 2009 student exit survey data indicates that USRP is a huge success in preparing students for STEM related careers.
The student exit survey has asked student participants of USRP from Spring 2008 to Summer 2009 if “This internship experience helped prepare them to achieve their career goals in science, technology, engineering or math.”An overwhelming 88% of USRP interns have indicated that they “Strongly or Moderately Agree” that the internship experience helped prepare them to achieve their STEM career goals.
As outlined in President Barack Obama’s speech to the National Academy of Science preparing students for careers in STEM needs to be a main focus of our nations’ top educational programs. USRP is dedicated to accomplish the Presidents goals for STEM by providing immersive internship experiences for undergraduate STEM majors on-site at NASA Centers.
