NASA USRP Sees Immense Geographic Diversity Since 2008
In a recent study the NASA Undergraduate Student Research Project has done an analysis of interns that have been placed since the Spring 2008 to the Fall of 2009. It was found that USRP has been able to provide internships for a geographically diverse group of undergraduate students. USRP student interns have thus far represented 512 different universities around the country. The Undergraduate Student Research Project management team is very proud to have such a wide variety of U.S. universities and colleges represented among USRP interns. The geographic diversity of USRP indicates that NASA projects are open to students from a wide variety of public and private institutions around the country.
“USRP is just such an incredible diverse program for undergraduate STEM majors. Our geographic diversity is just one more reason way that USRP brings a unique group of individuals representing America’s future STEM workforce” – Sheri Klug USPR Project Administrator.
All undergraduate STEM majors have an equal opportunity to compete for USRP internships when they apply through the online application portal. The image below indicates exactly how the geographic diversity of USRP is distributed around the country.
