NASA USRP Interns Bring New Ideas to NASA Organizations
What organization would not want employees that bring new ideas to their team? At a time when NASA and every U.S. STEM organization could use a vast amount of fresh ideas, USRP interns are bringing new ideas to NASA teams around the country.
The NASA Undergraduate Student Research Project has asked NASA mentors about the student interns abilities in the USRP mentor survey. One of the mentor survey questions asked mentors if the student identifies and suggests new ideas. The results indicated that 115 mentors rated their intern as Excellent, 84 rated their student as Good, 23 rated as Satisfactory, and 6 rated as Poor. This data is especially exciting to USRP because it shows that not only can USRP interns contribute to the NASA organization they are working for but they can also bring new ideas and suggestions to the table.
“This is such an amazing aspect of what the USRP internship opportunity can bring to NASA organizations. To have undergraduate students join a workforce team for 10 -15 weeks and produce new ideas among a group of industry leaders is a credit to the power of these students innovation and imagination and a huge benefit to NASA” – Sheri Klug USRP Project Administrator.
USRP interns brought 115 excellent new ideas to their organizations while interning through USRP to be exact. USRP interns are truly a valuable asset to all NASA organizations by being able to offer new ideas for the future of NASA.
